Introduction

Recognised for its diverse range of offerings, including sports betting, poker, casino games, soft games, and skill games, Bwin has established a distinctive presence, excelling predominantly in poker and sports betting. The company initiated an engaging design competition, fostering a friendly rivalry among designers from the London and Vienna branches. The task at hand was to envision a novel concept for Bwin’s line of prepaid cards, strategically placed for sale at numerous retail locations throughout Europe.

My Role

As a participant in this design competition, I embraced the challenge of not only conceptualising but also successfully executing a winning design for Bwin’s prepaid cards and their accompanying packaging.

The Challenge

The competition posed the exciting challenge of reimagining the visual identity of Bwin’s prepaid cards. The goal was not only to create an aesthetically pleasing design but also to develop a concept that resonated with consumers and set Bwin apart in a competitive market. Crafting a solution that could be effectively translated to hundreds of retail locations throughout Europe added an extra layer of complexity.

Design Process

The journey involved a meticulous design process, from initial ideation to the execution of the winning concept. Researching consumer preferences, understanding Bwin’s brand ethos, and considering the practical aspects of retail display were key components. Iterative design, feedback incorporation, and a keen eye for detail were crucial in refining the concept into a winning solution.

Conclusion

The Bwin Prepaid Cards and Packaging Design competition concluded with a successful outcome as my design secured victory. This project not only showcased my design skills and creativity but also demonstrated an ability to meet the specific challenges posed by a diverse and competitive market. The victory underscored my capacity to deliver compelling design solutions aligned with brand objectives and consumer expectations.
