When the pandemic hit in 2021, the game changed for retailers. As lockdowns kept people at home, the need for quick, convenient online shopping solutions went through the roof. That's when East of England Co-op – one of the largest independent retailers across Essex, Suffolk, and Norfolk needed a way to get their products into people's hands safely and efficiently.
The Mission
The objective was to craft an online delivery service matching user-friendly functionality with stunning visuals. One that could support local producers and communities by zipping fresh groceries from East of England Co-op's stores to neighbourhood doorsteps within 30-60 minutes. As a key member of the creative team behind the scenes, it was my role to bring this mission to life. Through smart design thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and crafting standout promotional content, I seamlessly merged business requirements with an exceptional user experience.
Making It Happen
After deep research, East of England Co-op joined forces with Snappy Shopper to make their delivery dream a reality. With my design expertise, we established bold, fun branding that stood out on social media feeds and streamlined the entire app experience for seamless order placement.
The UI/UX? A meticulously crafted experience focused on intuitive navigation and personalised store views based on location. Integrated payment options like Apple Pay made checkout a breeze. And strategic in-store promos didn't just boost sales – they helped reduce food waste in a big way.
The Result
Average basket sizes climbed, monthly revenues followed suit, and customer satisfaction levels went up with the speedy 30-60 minute delivery. This app single-handedly attracted new shoppers while rekindling existing relationships. The East of England Co-op Delivery App didn't just succeed – it excelled.
